I watched a documentary film yesterday about the most private thoughts of the British soldiers during the Second World War, as they were extracted from some personal diaries. Compared to the other types of documentary films related to this sad episode in the world history, the private touch is more accurate and more emotional.

I was particularly interested in the tanks presented in that film. Although the British army entered in war a little unprepared, their Cruiser tanks were the most rapid and the most reliable. I was also impressed by the huge German tank, Tiger, which was the biggest; its disadvantages were that it was slower and the least economical, because it consumed a lot of gas due to its being heavier. In addition, is was the most difficult of all to be driven. Panzer tanks were lighter and more effective in combat, although they were smaller.
