A day in antiquity
Last week I went for a walk in the centre of Athens, where I have been living for the past few years. I always look forward to revisiting the sights and monuments in Athens, many of which I have visited on a number of occasions. However, there is one place that always amazes me: the Acropolis Museum, whose breathtaking view is just one of its great attractions.
The museum is dedicated to the monuments of the Acropolis, the greatest of which is the Parthenon, and the exhibits enable visitors to relive the golden age of Classical Greece. I happened to go on a Saturday, when visitors have the opportunity to enjoy a 3D presentation in the virtual reality theatre, and I must say, it really was incredible. I always have so many queries when I pay a visit to museums, and in this museum there is always a guide around whom you can ask as many questions as you wish.
The more I visit this museum, the closer I feel to the ancient world. This, I believe, is the reason the Acropolis Museum has been voted one of the top fifty museums in the world.
